Rooted in Nature. Designed to Disappear.
A Message from the Earth, for the Earth.
Thank you for choosing a more conscious way to wear. When you will open this package, you wont just receive a new garment; you will join a revolution to close the loop on fashion waste.
At Vastra bamboo clothing, we believe that what comes from the earth should eventually return to it, leaving nothing behind but nourishment for the next generation of growth. This philosophy starts with the bamboo fibers in your apparel and extends to the very package you are holding in your hands.
.
Why Bamboo, why Now?
Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword for us; it’s a biological imperative. We chose bamboo for our apparel because it is one of nature’s most resilient superheroes.
• A Breath of Fresh Air: Did you know that a grove of bamboo produces 35% more oxygen than an equivalent stand of trees?
• Regenerative by Design: Bamboo is the fastest-growing plant on the planet. It requires no pesticides, very little water, and its complex root system actually prevents soil erosion rather than depleting it.
The Eco-Logic of Our Packaging
We felt it was only right to protect our bamboo clothing with a material just as innovative. We’ve extended our “Eco-Logic” to our mailers and garment bags.
Instead of traditional, petroleum-based plastics that sit in landfills for 500 years, this package is crafted from plant-based materials (PLA and PBAT). It is certified 100% biodegradable and compostable. While it looks and feels like plastic, it is fundamentally different. It is organic matter, waiting to rejoin the ecosystem.
End-of-Life Instructions: How to Return Me to the Earth
We’ve done our part in sourcing—now we need your help to complete the cycle. To ensure this package disappears as intended, please follow these simple steps:
- Strip it Down: Remove any non-compostable shipping labels or adhesive tape. (We are working on making these compostable too!)
- Break it Down: Cut or tear the mailer into smaller pieces. This increases the surface area for microbes to do their work.
- Feed the Earth: Place the pieces in your home compost bin or take them to a local industrial composting facility.
- The Disappearing Act: In a healthy compost environment, this packaging will break down in as little as 90 to 180 days, turning into nutrient-rich soil.
